Content of the CDM-AR-PDD

The project design document for afforestation and reforestation (A/R) projects (CDM-AR-PDD) is divided into 8 sections:

  • Section A - General description of the project activity;
  • Section B - Duration of the project / crediting period;
  • Section C - Application of an approved baseline and monitoring methodology;
  • Section D - Estimation of net removals by sinks over the crediting period;
  • Section E - Monitoring plan;
  • Section F - Environmental impacts;
  • Section G - Socio-economic impacts; and
  • Section H - Stakeholder comments.

This generally accords with the information required by 5/CMP.1, Annex, Appendix B to be included in a project design document.  This section follows the structure of the CDM-AR-PDD, but the decisions in Appendix B are also extracted underneath the relevant sections below.

The latest version of the CDM-AR-PDD (Version 4) can be downloaded here.

The Executive Board adopted Guidelines for completing the CDM-AR-PDD at EB 42, Annex 12 and these guidelines can be downloaded here.  This annex contained Version 8 of the guidelines and replaced earlier (published) guidelines at EB 35 Annex 21, EB 32 Annex 21, EB 28 Annex 19, EB 26 Annex 21, EB 23 Annex 15(b), EB 22 Annex 14, EB 21 Annex 19 and EB 15 Annex 9.
