What is validation?

Validation for a Programme of Activities (PoA) is the confirmation by a designated operational entity (DOE) that the PoA meets all the requirements for registration of PoAs. The validation process is set out in EB 32, Annex 39.

In summary, the DOE is required to review and validate all project documents against the general validation criteria for CDM project activities, as well as the specific validation criteria for PoAs.

The coordinating/managing entity must prepare the project documentation and provide it to the DOE for validation. The DOE will check the provisions of the project documentation against the validation requirements.
