Creating a new methodology using F-CDM-SSC-NM

The simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale projects permit the submission of proposals for new small-scale methodologies, or revision of existing methodologies:

Project participants involved in small-scale CDM project activities may propose changes to the simplified baseline and monitoring methodologies specified in appendix B or propose additional project categories for consideration by the Executive Board (4CMP.1 Annex II, paragraph 15).

In order to propose a new small-scale methodology, project participants must complete F-CDM-SSC-NM (Form for proposed new small-scale methodologies). F-CDM-SSC-NM requires the following information to be provided:

  • The category to which the proposed methodology belongs (Type (i), Type (ii) or Type (iii))
  • The technology/measure to which the methodology relates
  • The project boundary for projects using the methodology
  • The baseline scenario and the way the baseline is calculated
  • If leakage emissions occur and how they should be calculated
  • Possible project activity emissions and how they should be calculated
  • Which parameters should be monitored and how they should be monitored (adapted from F-CDM-SSC-NM).

The latest version of F-CDM-SSC-NM is contained in EB 34, Annex 12 and can be downloaded here.
