Special cases and exceptions

Multiple projects

A single letter of approval may be valid for more than one project if this is clearly stated:

A written approval from a Party may cover more than one project provided that all projects are clearly listed in the letter (EB 16, Annex 6, paragraph 3; CDM Glossary of Terms (Version 03)).

Multilateral funds

Multilateral funds are excepted from the requirement to obtain written approval from the designated national authority (DNA) of each participant:

Multilateral funds do not necessarily require written approval from each participant's DNA. However those not providing a written approval may be giving up some of their rights and privileges in terms of being a Party involved in the project (EB 16, Annex 6, paragraph 3; CDM Glossary of Terms (Version 03)).
