6/CMP.1, Annex sets out that projects registered as small-scale CDM projects are entitled to use the simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale CDM project activities.

5/CMP.1, Annex, paragraph 1(i) defines afforestation and reforestation (SSC A/R) projects.

6/CMP.1, Annex provides that the modalities and procedures for large-scale A/R projects apply to SSC A/R projects, except those contained in paragraphs 12-30. Simplified modalities and procedures, contained in paragraphs 4 - 29 of 6/CMP.1, Annex, apply instead.

EB 35, Annex 18 sets out the procedures to demonstrate the eligibility of lands for A/R CDM project activities.

5/CMP.1, Annex, paragraph 1(i) confirms that afforestation and reforestation project activities are required to stay under the emission removal limits established for SSC A/R projects. Project activities exceeding these limits will only be eligible to claim temporary certified emission reductions (tCERs) or long-term certified emission reductions (lCERs) up to the limit.
